Description

Live Ponytail Palm (Beaucarnea recurvata): Sculptural Houseplant. A live Ponytail Palm brings a bulbous trunk topped with long, ribbon-like leaves to your indoor plant collection. Its upright shape adds a natural focal point to living rooms, entryways, and office spaces. The foliage and overall form bring a distinctive botanical look to indoor plant displays.

Pot size refers to the width measured across the top rim of the pot.

  • Light: Bright light, including some direct sun. Introduce stronger sunlight gradually to reduce leaf stress.
  • Watering: Let the soil dry thoroughly before watering.
  • Care: Use a gritty, fast-draining mix and do not bury the swollen trunk base. Indoors or outdoors in warm weather; acclimate to sun gradually. Ideal temperature: 60–85°F (16–29°C). USDA outdoor hardiness: Zones 9–11.
  • Growth & expectations: New ribbon-like leaves emerge from the growing crown as the plant matures. Older outer fronds may naturally yellow while the plant gradually becomes fuller. Actual growth depends on light, season, and care.
